NOTE: Article 11, Section 11.09 of the Home Rule Charter -Damage Suits. The notification shall be
filed within forty-five {45) days of the date of injury or damage or, in the case of death, within forty-five
(45) days of the date of death. The failure to so notify the City within the tune and manner specified shall
exonerate, excuse and exempt the City from any liability whatsoever. No action at law shall be brought
against the City until at least sixty (60) days have elapsed following the date of notification.

Dear Mr. Blateri:
By way of this correspondence, we acknowledge receipt of the claim you filed against the City of
Coppell for damage reportedly sustained as a result of the City purging the water lines.
Please be advised we have reviewed your claim, as presented. As documentation of your claim,
you presented two repair invoices, one of which is dated August 16, 2000 by AAA Plumbing, in
the amount of $245.98. This repair work, however, occurred two weeks prior to the date the City
of Coppell purged the water line in question (August 30, 2000). Accordingly, we will only be
able to honor the $130.00 claim which involves repair work performed as a direct result of the
water line purge. Enclosed, you will find our company's check for payment as it relates to this
matter.
