Since the beginning of the Sandy Lake Rd. project there has been discussion with representatives from TXU
Electric about the installation of streetlights along Sandy Lake Rd. To insure that all necessary conduit gets
installed beneath the subgrade prior to the placement of the paving it is necessary to enter into an agreement
for the streetlights at this time. The streetlights themselves will be our standard square, painted poles. The
initial design shows that there will be 66 streetlights between Denton Tap Rd. and MacArthur Blvd.
Staff recommends approval of the agreement with TXU for the installation of the streetlights and will be
available for questions at the Council meeting.

As requested, TXU Electric and Gas has designed the street light layout for the City of
Coppell's Sandy Lake Road street project. The street light design includes the installation of
street lights from the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Sandy Lake Road west to the
intersection of Denton Tap Road and Sandy Lake Road.
The installation as designed and costs associated with each aspect of the installation are as
follows:
66 - 30' square steel painted standards with 2-250 watt High Pressure Sodium
rectangular luminaries (66 at $1550.00 00 each) $102,300.00
66 concrete foundations for standards (66 at $250.00) $16,500.00
3. Conduit and wire (10,300 feet at $4.00/foot) $41,200.00
Total $160,000.00
The City of Coppell may elect to install the concrete foundations and the conduit as designed,
in which case the cost of installation of the standards would be $102,300.00
This price is good for 90 days from today's date. If not accepted in writing within 90 days, a
new cost estimate may be required using prevailing material and labor costs. Material will not
be ordered and construction will not begin until written acceptance and the agreed upon amount
are received by TXU Electric & Gas.

2. Company agrees to install, own, operate and maintain said street lights in accordance with its street lighting agree-
ment with customer. However, i~ City or Developer fails to pay, on demand, the amount indicated above, this supple-
mental agreement is automatically terminated.
3. All parties agree that Company will retain for its use and benefit the payment received hereunder in consideration of
its obligation fo install said street lights and that Company at all times has title fo, and complete ownership and control
of, said street lights.
4. Company is not liable for loss or injury caused by delay or failure to install the electric facilities necessary to serve
customer because of delay in recei~,ing shipments of required material, orders or formal requests of governmental
agencies, acts of God or the public enemy, inevitable accidents, fire, explosions, strikes, riots, war, or any other causes
reasonably beyond control of Company. If Company is prevented from installing such electric facilities by any of the
above causes, Company agrees lo return fo Cit7 or Developer, without interest, the entire amount of City or Developer's
payment, thereby terminating this supplement and Company's obligation to provide the electric facilities described herein.
5. This agreement is entered into subject to the terms of the Agreement for Street Lighting Service between City and
