ST9302-CS 991112November 12, 1999 P.O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 972-462-0022 Mr. Karl Thormann P. O. Box 765 Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mr. Thormann: I am writing as a follow-up to our conversations regarding the drainage problems and construction activities near your home. As we discussed, the electrical line installation immediately behind the alley at your residence was performed by a contractor on behalf of TXU. Therefore, the line is in fact a public utility within a public utility easement. I have forwarded your concern to Ken Griffin, City Engineer about thc manner in which that construction took place, more specifically the fill material that was used to back fill the trench. Mr. Griffin will be in contact with TXIJ regarding that subject. The drainage problems resulting from the construction of Sandy Lake Road are also in the process of being addressed. An interim measure consisting of surface grade work will be performed within the next few days in an attempt to allow the water that is currently pending in the alley behind your residence to drain further to the north and collect within the Sandy Lake Road street fight-of-way. It is our hope this will allow the alley to be accessible in an acceptable form until the road construction is complete. The final design for Sandy Lake Road does include a drainage inlet at the end of the alley behind your residence, which should take the drainage from the alley into the storm water system now being constructed on Sandy Lake Road. The need to reconstruct a portion of your alley to ensure positive drainage will be determined as the storm water drainage inlet is being constructed. Please feel free to contact City Engineer Ken Cniffin or members of his ~affat (972) 304-3679 if you would like to discuss the location and design of the inlet in question. I do appreciate your patience in working with the city regarding these issues. As always, please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have. Sincerely, Deputy City Manager CP/sh Ken Griffm City Engineer
