Dear Mr. Griffin:
It is our intent to begin paving phase 1 of the referenced project on October 19, 1999. Phase 1
will consist of paving a 27' section of the west bound lanes from STA 56+00 to STA 4+84. We
will begin our paving operation at Moore Road and progress toward Denton Tap Road. As
discussed previously, we intend to keep the concrete mixer trucks in the roadway and discharge
the concrete into our concrete placer which will be positioned in the grade in front of the slip
form paving machine. Our placer is a tracked machine with rubber track pads that will not
damage the grade or the steel. Keeping the placer in the grade rather than the roadway will allow
for smoother traffic flow around the paving operation. To control traffic around the paving
operation, we intend to utilize flag men and traffic cones. As directed, we have positioned
message boards on either end of the project to inform the traveling public of the expected traffic
delays.
Enclosed for your review are plan sheets for the proposed paving. The cross hatched areas will
not be paved during the main lane paving operation, but will be paved while maintaining traffic
at these intersections ar~.d drixTeways.
With regard to your questions about the traffic patterns for the concrete mixer trucks. Our loaded
trucks will travel along Sandy Lake Road from east to west and stop at the concrete placer to
discharge their load. After discharging their load, the mixer trucks will travel to our office site,
wash out, and return to the plant along Sandy Lake Road. If the paving operation has passed the
office site, the mixer trucks will follow the following traffic pattern:
1. Continue to Denton Tap Road and turn left.
2. Turn left on Bethel School Road.

3. Turn left on Heartz Road.
4. Turn right on Sandy Lake Road and proceed to the wash out area.
5. After washing out the trucks, they will return to the plant site along Sandy Lake Road.
If you have any questions regarding this information, don't hesitate to contact our office.
l~ncerely,
Robert D. Weber
