Connell Skaggs-CS 900214 ~OPPELLPUBLICWO~3~S
February 14, 1990
Steve Goram, Director of Public Works
Russell Doy~l~ity Engineer
Connell Skaggs Drainage Contract
(Tickler 1/31/90)
Mark Connell indicates the following information from his engineer=
- Current flow in the ditch 480 CFS (much water still flows
onto Denton Tap ROW)
- Ultimate flow will be 890 CFS
The proposed earthen channel will carry 281CFS (7 year rain)
Lining the proposed channel with 1 foot free board will carry
810 CFS
Lining the proposed channel with no free board will carry 1063
CFS
Mark Connell requests the entire stretch be a lined channel instead
of the enclosed concrete box culvert. He said with an open channel
he will lose about $40,000 value in land, but still requests it.
Larry Jackson indicates we probably could require Boorhem and
Hinckley to put in a box culvert just like we required Connell.
He indicated more study and deliberation would be required to see
if the "drainage district" concept could be used to get upstream
property owners to participate in the downstream improvements (This
project could be a pilot project).
It appears that we have the information requested, therefore, I
have set up a meeting for Monday, February 19, 1990 at 10:30 a.m.
in Frank Trando's office with Mark Connell, Larry Jackson, Frank,
yourself and me.
