Northlake 635 (5)-CS 930825 The City With A Beautiful Future August 25, 1993 Ms..lan Seidner DART P.O.Box 660163 Dallas, TX 75266-7230 P.O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 214-462-0022 RE: Utility easement for a future sanitary sewer line Dear Ms. Seidner: Thank you for taking the time to discuss DART's position and policies on the installation of utility lines and/or improvements across DART property on August 23, 1993. This letter is written as a follow-up to obtain a more definitive response from DART about the City's ability to obtain an utility easement across DART's property on the west side of Coppoll Road, south of Bums Drive (see enclosed exhibi0. As I stated, the property immediately north of the DART property is in the process of platting and the City has requested an utility easement. However, there are already existing improvements in the area of the requested utility easement. Because of the existing improvements, the property owner has requested that the City contact DART about the potential to acquire an easement through DART property. The utility in question is a 15 inch sanitary sewer line as shown on the City of Coppell's Master Plan. The City has no immediate plan to construct this line, however, the City is trying to secure the easement across the property to the north at this time because the property is currently being platted. By virtue of this letter, I am requesting that DART provide the City of Coppell information on the process to obtain permission to install a future utility across DART property. The information should contain the estimated cost of the right to be on DART property. I would also request that DART provide policies on the utilization of DART property and the ability of DART to request that the improvements be relocated if DART determines that there is a better use of the property. The City is not currently attempting to acquire the permission but is only looking at future options for the installation of the sanitary sewer line. Any information that can be provided to the City at this time will be greatly appreciated and would help future planning for the installation of this sewer line. If I can provide you any additional information or details concerning this please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Sincerely, Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
