ST9801-CS 891013COPFELL PUBLIC WORKS )[EMOR3%NDUM DA~E: TO: FRO)[: RE: October 13, 1989 Steve Coram, Director of Public Works Per Birdsall, Street Superintendent ~ Shoulder Work for Overlays Shoulder work along new overlays cannot be performed until 3 to 4 weeks after it has been laid. This is to allow the I~AC 'to cure. Minor damage occurred during shoulder work on previous overlays because the cure time was not given. In addition to this information, Mike Sharp of Dallas County R & B District 1 wants to make it known up front that we must allow hi~ flexibility on the scheduling of the shoulder work after the cure period. This is due to his responsibilities towards the Beltline Rd. Project currently under construction. Mike Sharp will let Uvalde Construction Co. know that the edge of pavement will need to be feathered to reduce the need for immedi&te shoulder work over the majority of the projects. For those areas requiring more prompt attention, Dallas County will work with us to address those areas as a priority. The overall shoulder work will be done as promptly as possible but be cognizant that it may take 2 to 3 months before the work is complete. PHB/bb SHOULDER.PHB
