MEMORANDUM
February 26, 1993
To: Gary Sieb, Director of Planning and/~.--,~/~tY Services
From: Greg Jones, Chief Building Official ~//
subject: Request from Morris Salerno that th%~City Council
reconsider sign variance for Gibb's Station
I was contacted by Morris Salerno on Friday February 26,
following his receipt of our letter informing him to remove his
unpermitted signs from the Gibb's Station restaurant. Mr.
Salerno stated that he was unaware that his request for variance
was scheduled to be heard by the Council at their February 23
meeting and has asked if they would consider rehearing the
variance when he could present his side.
As far as whether he was aware of his upcoming hearing, his
request that was received by our office indicated the item was to
be placed on the February 23 council agenda. Since the
information that was furnished was incomplete, our office
contacted Mr. Salerno to inform him that we would need additional
drawings by Monday February 15, so they could be submitted with
the item by the 5:00 cutoff time in order that the item could be
heard on the 23rd. Mr. Salerno brought the drawings to our
office himself in order to meet the deadline.
In any event, it is my understanding that this item would need to
be brought up at the next council meeting to see if they would
consider rehearing this request.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
