Denton Tap Road Improvement from Belt Line Road to Sandy Lake Road
Our File No. 232
Dear John:
Pursuant to your transmittal letter of May 25, I have reviewed the Street or
Highway Easement to be granted by St. Louis Southwest Railway Corporation to the
city in connection with the widening of Denton Tap Road where it crosses the railroad
line.
This is the railroad's standard Street or Highway Easement which grants the city
the right to construct, reconstruct, and maintain the highway across the railroad property
subject to the railroad's usual provisions heavily weighted in the railroad's favor. The
easement appears to be in proper form, and I approve it as such. I should point out to
the city that Sections 12 through 16 of the "Insert" provide that the railroad will install
the crossing signals at the expense of the city, which has been estimated at $205,709.00.
Also, Section 6 requires that any (city) contractor performing work on the property
shad execute the railroad's standard form of contractor's agreement prior to
commencement of any work on the railroad's premises.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to give me a caD.
Very truly yours,
SALLINGER, NICHOLS, JACKSON,
