Dear Mr. ~
We have been working with T.U. Electric for the last 2 1/2 years
in developing and coordinating the design of the street lighting
system for Denton Tap Road. The attached correspondence is the
result of this effort. The information they have submitted is
correct.
By accepting T.U. Electric's proposal to use the G.E. Decashield
Fixtures in lieu of the Kim Fixtures we will be able to save the
city of Coppe11 approximately $112,647.00. As you can see from
the attached "Proposed Budget" this item was originally budgeted
for $217,500.00. We recommend that the City of Coppell respond
immediately to T.U. Electric's letter by selecting the most
desirable form of payment. This is necessary at this time in
order to allow T.U. Electric to procure the necessary materials
and hire contractors for the installation which hopefully can be
completed by the fall of this year.
For your information we have attached copies of some post key
correspondence dealing with this project.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Karlsruher, P.E.

Re: Denton Tap Road Street Lighting from Belt Line Road to
Denton Creek, Coppell, Texas.
Dear Mr. Brancheau:
We have reviewed your plans for the subject project and have
marked them with our comments. Since we last visited concerning
this project, three median openings and four left turn lanes have
been added to the project north of Sandy Lake Road at the
following centerline stations:
178+17.77 - southbound left turn lane.
182+44 - median opening and northbound left turn lane.
186+98 - median opening and northbound left turn lane.
195+28 - median opening, northbound left turn lane,
south bound left turn lane.
and
Please review our comments regarding the location of the lights
located at the following centerline stations and relocate them as
necessary:
179+22
181+05
182+78
186+50
195+18
196+83
202+00
Having also reviewed your cost estimates for the City of Coppell
standard Kim Lights and the alternate GE Decashield Lights, we
believe that the City of Coppell desires to use the lower priced
GE Decashield Lights. In that regard please prepare the
necessary Security Agreement and Contract for execution by the
City of Coppe11. The Security Agreement and Contract documents
should be prepared in anticipation of street light installation
beginning in July of this year. Hopefully we can have the
Agreement and Contract considered bi the City Council in March or
April.
If you have any questions, please call me.
