Drainage Concern -- Coppell Road
During citizens appearances at the February 11, 1992 Council
meeting one of our citizens, Walter Pettijohn, referred to a
drainage facility on Coppell Road. He expressed concern of the
safety at this particular location which is directly in front of
the Devonshire subdivision and part of the project in this area.
The ditch in question has a railroad tie retaining wall that was
placed approximately 4 feet from the edge of the pavement and is an
average depth of 3.5 feet. The placement of .this retainer wall was
discouraged; staff suggested an underground system at this location
instead. At the time, staff was informed Engineering was
negotiating with the developer the possibility of constructing an
enclosed system.
I have discussed this with Ken Griffin and it may be appropriate
that the three of us, along with Gary Sieb, discuss this matter.
