Sandy Lake Road Construction
Ken: Ed Bell Construction started work in front of my house
at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Not only were they working
they were busting concrete with the a backhoe using the back
of the bucket which lierally shook our house to the point
where my mother and mother-in-law (in town for Town Center's
Grandparents Day) woke up wondering if the house was falling
down. I stopped the backhoe operator and call the police.
I think the City is being pretty insensitive about the way
they are letting Ed Bell progress at the expense of the
citizens. Starting on Saturday before 8:00 a.m., not
sawcutting concrete but using a backhoe to bust it up. No
dust control. No procedure for making sure the remaining
trees will survive. Leaving spoils hanging around too
long. No Stan Phillips any more. Gareth already has his
hands full with construction issues-he surely doesn't have
time to look after Sandy Lake.
This is all of our City. Sandy Lake improvements could
become the image of our City. Just because Ed Bell's crews
don't live along this route doesn't mean they should have
the right to do whatever they want...and however they want
to do it.
Please don't give me "you-knew-it-would-be-bad speech". You
and I both know it could be better.
Call me Monday at (972) 866-9555.
