Lacy Co. to perform remedial work on steel beam supports under Cottonwood Creek Bridge. Crew was instructed to remove 18" of soil from the base of steel beams. Informed sub-contractor and Scott Balch to confirm the finished elevation of 449.00 or 1' below flowline of proposed channel. See Change Order #~.~ Misc. Items - Met with Scott Balch. and sub-contractor for Copeland Co. at approx. 2:00 PM to discuss metal guard rail installation on both north and south projects. Asked Scott if L. H. Lacy Co. had submitted shop drawings for approval prior to starting work. He replied, "No, I didn't think we were suppose to". Note: Slope on northwest corner of Cottonwood Creek Bridge to the Andy Brown Park entrance has yet to be shaped as per Engineer's drawings. South Project Jim Bowman Const. Lacy Co. - Mike Flewelling, 1 operator, 1 backhoe, 1 dozer - Mobilized from north project this morning, to the Grapevine Creek Channel. Excavating the east 1/2 channel from sanitary sewer aerial crossing to the downstream end. Re-working southeast side slopes and using the excavated soils for balancing outside the east R.O.W. on Thompson's property. At approx. 3:45 PM I discussed with Mike Flewelling the east back of curb side slope from Sta. 113+80 to 111+80 not being ~ the proposed 3 to 1 slope. Existing slope will not accommodate the proposed metal guard rail set back distance from the back of curb. He agreed the slopes are too steep and needs additional fill. Note: This area had previously been seeded approx. 4 weeks ago. Misc. items - Had meeting with Scott Balch and Copeland Co. representative i.e. metal guard rail.
