Dear Mr. Snyder:
This letter is in response to your August 25, 1988 letter
concerning the conflict between the the existing 24" sanitary
sewer and storm sewer line "D" at approximate station 196+60. We
are issuing six (6) sets of the revised drawings, list enclosed,
for this area showing the modified MC8-3 cast-in-place reinforced
concrete box culvert section to be constructed in lieu of the
precast box culvert sections which were in conflict with the
abovementioned sanitary sewer. We have no objections to your
proposed pricing for this item. Please reflect the additional
cost of this item on your application for payment as a Field
Extra identified as: Field Change No. 2 - Cast-In-Place 2-8X4
RCBC at 24" Sanitary Sewer - $ 1,500.00 L.S.
In your review of the drawings you will note that we have
eliminated the "floating floor" and compressible foam in favor of
casting the floor and footing directly against.the existing
sanitary sewer line. The current design is simpler to build and
affords more protection to the sewer line while distributing the
earth and box culvert loads more evenly around the sewer line.
If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to call
me.
Please give us at least two days notice before placing the
reinforcing steel in the footing and floor of the cast-in-place
section so that we may provide the Coppell Municipal Utility
District No. 1 the opportunity to visually inspect the existing
24" sanitary sewer which is a part of their collection system.
