Dear Mr. Griffin:
As discussed in our August 17, 1999 monthly meeting the need for a cast iron fitting price for the
additional fittings required to adjust water lines to miss existing utilities was necessary. Our
price for cast iron fittings by the ton is $2,890.00 per ton. Two tons of additional fittings should
be sufficient to cover any problems that occur on the project. Please add this item to the next
change order.

Dear Mr. Griffin:
The plans and specifications state that the 16" water line would be shut down for the water line
adjustments and subsequent connections. Due to water usage, our utility subcontractor has been
required to wet tap rather than dry tap the water line. The higher costs associated with these wet
connections were not included in the bid items because of the note stating that the water line
would be inactive. Please incorporate the following item into the next change order:
16" x 8" RCCP wet tapping sleeve and valve
2 EA $2,680.00 $5,360.00
Paying for this item will eliminate the need for the following existing pay items:
Item 96 8" Gate Valve 2 EA $800.00 ($1,600.00)
Item 103 Connection to existing water main 2 EA $1,050.00 ($2,100.00)
Based upon our exr>erience to date, we believe it would be prudent to establish the following
contingency pay items to pay for wet connections to the 16" RCCP:
1. 16" x 12" Tapping Sleeve
2. 16" x 6" Tapping Sleeve
3. 16" x 4" Tapping Sleeve
4. 16" x 1" Service Connection
5. 16" x 2" Service Connection
