Re: Denton Tap Road Improvements
Street Lighting,
Landscaping and Irrigation
Dear Mr. Doyle:
I am writing this letter to inquire of the status of the
agreement with T.U. Electric Company for installation of street
lights on thel referenced project. Please refer to my May 24,
1989 letter, copy attached, regarding this issue.
As you know, we are finalizing the Landscape and Irrigation Plans
and Specifications for Denton Tap Road. In formulating the
Contract Bidding Documents and proposed Schedules we must have
some idea when the work can be accomplished. In this case, the
Landscape and Irrigation installation must follow installation of
street lighting for obvious reasons.
The latest information we have from T.U. Electric is that there
is a six week delivery time on the lights for the project
beginning after T.U. Electric orders the lights. Upon delivery
of the light standards, fixtures, etc. construction of
foundations and installation of conduits and wiring will begin.
It will take about a month to complete the street light
installation. T.U. Electric will not proceed with this process
until they reach an agreement with the City on how and when they
will be paid for their work, and receive acknowledgment from the
City that the system is acceptable.
If the agreement was executed and the lights ordered today, it
could concei=ably he late September before the street light
installation is complete.

This scenario does not pose any serious problems now, but further
delays in completing the agreement with T.U. Electric may
Jeopardize the possibility of completing the Landscape and
Irrigation installation by next spring.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
John C. Karlsruher, P.E.
