Dear Mr. Griffin:
The plans and specifications state that the 16" water line was an RCCP line when in actuality it
was ductile iron (DI) in some locations. Based upon addendum #1, our utility subcontractor bid
all of the connections as RCCP connections rather than DI connections. The higher costs
associated with DI connections were not included in the bid items because of addendum #1.
As discussed in our AugUst 17, 1999 monthly meeting, Mr. Allison requested that the price for
the various ductile iron (DI) tapping sleeves be submitted to the City aS~a complete price rather
than an additional cost: In accordance with that request, our prices are as follows:
1. 16" x 8" DIP Tapping Sleeve and Valve 6 EA $3,025.00 $18,150.00
2. 16" x 6" DIP Tapping Sleeve and Valve 1 EA $3,010.00 $3,010.00
3. 16" x 4" DIP Tapping Sleeve and Valve 1 EA $3,180.00 $3,180.00
4. 16" x 1" DIP Service Connection 9 EA $1,840.00 $16,560.00
5. 16" x 2" DIP Service Connection ! EA $1,200.00 $1,300.00
Paying for these items will eliminate the need for the following existing pay items:
Item 96 8" Gate Valve 6 EA $800.00
Item 97 6" Gate Valve 1 EA $650.00
Item 98 4" Gate Valve 1 EA $520.00
Item 103 Connection to existing water main 8 EA $1,050.00
