Dairy Queen Parking Complaint/Linda Veronich
I received a copy of the memo Linda provided Chief Terry concerning
this matter on 4/29/91. I spoke with Linda a couple of days before
concerning this and told her that it may be poss/ble to post that
area as 'No Parking". I would like to speak with you on this and
see if there has been any type of pre-agreement that provides for
this parking.
MEMORANDUM

Dairy Queen Parking Compla{nt
This afxernoon at 2:45 p.m. I observed the parking violation concern expressed by Tom Morton,
Council Member, directed to staff as to oven4ze vehicles pulling into a vacant field north of the
Dairy Queen at Southwestern and Denton Tap. Mary Ann Dozier, Dairy Queen owner, did not
feel it was a problem with the exception of an 18-wheel vehicle this morning. She saw it was
stuck and blocked a lane of tra~6c attempting to get off the field and back onto southbound
De.on Tap.
I related the concern, as k was addressed to staff to follow up on any possfole solution to allow
patrons to park near tha Dairy Queen but not create a tra~c hazard by doing so. There was
no clear cut compromise reached at the end of our discussion; however, she is aware that it
has bean cause for concern that needs to be resolved. Because the vehicle we/gl~ adversely
affects the curb, I suggest Rey Gonzale$, Streets Superintendent, become involved to post the
area as PARK/NG PROHIBITED.
