Re: Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt Line Road to Sandy
Lake Road.
Dear Mr. Doyle:
This letter is in response to your handwritten note on the
October 26, 1988 Nathan D. Maier letter to you concerning
modification of a proposed median opening and addition of a
driveway serving North Lake Nursery and the adjacent Thompson
property. We have reviewed the proposed driveway and median
opening modifications and have the following comments:
The proposed drive is much too large for safe operation.
The 35' drives with the small median will be confusing
to drivers and each of the sides will be used as a two
way drive. A single 40' wide driveway, located north of
the median shown on the sketch would adequately serve
large truck access, and would work well with the 60'
median opening centered on it.
The on site truck loading
property appears to be too
allow smooth easy access.
on the North Lake Nursery
close to Denton Tap Road to
Based on the above we recommend that the proposed divided
driveway not be allowed and that the property owners be persuaded
to consider an undivided 40' wide driveway in the approximate
location of the more northerly drive shown on the attached sketch
with the 60' wide median opening adjusted to center on the drive.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
enclosures

Dear Mr. Fikes:
Attached please lind a copy of the (hawing showing the option irt which the pole is relocated 10' back as
yeu have requesled. Please note that, as I explained to you over lhe phone, the trailer portion of the
Irt~ck may have a belier angle in reference to Ihe Iocalion of the driveway; howev,er, the turning move-
merit is slill controlled by the proposed island prolecling the power pole located' adjacent to the public
right-o[-way.
Our recommendalion on the 35' width o! Ihe driveway and the 75' median opening remains the same,
since we believe il is in your best interesl and Ibe Cily ol Coppell to provide lhese measurements as
shown o~) Ihe sketch, in order to minimize the replacement of the curbs i~ this area. It is our
understanding that any adjustments to this pole will require a new pole to be placed wilbin the island
separating Ihe two driveways, in order Io provide the req~Jirod 50' span between poles.
Please call me at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
NATHAN D. MAIER
