Roadway Assessment/Paving and Drainage
This morning I met with a potential developer and his as
they requested. Their purpose of the visit was to discuss paving
and drainage (mainly) for a proposed development on the S.E. corner
of Sandy Lake (Thweat) Road and Royal Lane. They made the
following requests~
That roadway assessment take place at the time of actual road
improvement (in response to my comment that $200 per linear
foot is to be assessed at the time of final platting and plan
approval).
2. That we allow them to leave the existing open channel the same
at this time.
3. If %2 is not allowed, they may propose detention to reduce the
drainage flow into said existing channel.
If #2 and #3 are not allowed, can developer get credit in Sandy
Lake Road Assessment by putting the ultimate drainage system
in along Sandy Lake Road?
Can they make improvement to half Sandy Lake Road fronting
their property, instead of escrowing funds for such
improvement?
As you know, we have a few similar requests raised by other
developers.
Please note that the developer is awaiting a response from us. I
told him that I would check with you and, unless I hear
differently, we do require proper drainage improvement. We require
enclosed drainage system instead of opening channel and as for the
subdivision ordinance, appropriate funds need to be escrowed for
future road improvement. I appreciate your comments and direction.
Please advise.
