Coppell Project #: ST 93-02
Kimley-Hom Project #: 06940600
DWU Project #: 98-311F
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Enclosed for your review is a revised schedule for the referenced project reflecting the delays experienced to date.
This schedule reflects the following general sequence of events:
1. Complete utility work on the north side of Sandy Lake to include the 16" water lowerings.
2. Continue utility work on the south side of Sandy Lake while excavating, liming, and paving a portion of
the north side of Sandy Lake.
3. Switch the old DWU water line into the new 30" Coppell water line.
4. Finish paving on the north side of Sandy Lake.
5. Switch traffic and lower the DWU water line.
6. Excavation, liming, and paving the remainder of the project.
7. Complete the remainder of the pay items and sell the job.
This schedule indicates that the project will be completed in June 2001, which is approximately three months behind
the original projected completion date. This delayed completion is wholly attributable to the numerous utility
conflicts that we have encountered. Because of the delays encountered to date, it is clear that enough work cannot
be completed in time to start or finish the DWU water line lowerings during the DWU work window, October 1999
to May 2000. Therefore, to avoid an extended suspension of work on this project, it is imperative that water from
the DWU 30" water line be transferred to the new Coppel130" water line to eliminate the need to comply with
DWU's work window, thus allowing continued progression of the project.
If you have any questions regarding this schedule, don't hesitate to contact our office.
Sin~cerely, ~
