Change Order #1 for 16" Water Line & Gate Valves
Dear Mr. Weber:
DATE
For some time now the City of Copper has requested a breakdown ¢
pricing associated with the installation of gate valves and the extension
comer of Sandy Lake and Moore Road. This letter is written as a req
information requested concerning that proposed change order so that the work can take place.
Each year between May 15 and September 15, the City of Coppell goes on a water conservation plan.
Because of that plan and the need to provide water, the 16" water line cannot be taken out of service
between the timeframe of May 15 through September 15. The 16" water line is a critical link in our water
operation system. This could impact your scheduling and work operation on the project since the 16"
water line has to be lowered prior to construction on the north side paving.
I'am requesting that a breakdown of the proposed change order items be provided immediately and that all
work associated with the lowering of the 16" water line be completed during the month of April 1999.
This will allow approximately the first 2 weeks of May to perform any necessary testing to insure the
water quality before the line is placed back into service. Because of the critical nature of the water supply
within the City of Coppell there can be no exceptions to taking the 16" water line out of service between
the timeframe of May 15 and September 15.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter. If you should have any questions please feel free to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M .
