ST9301A-CS 941205 DALLAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS ~'T'C'/3 0 1 ~ December 5, 1994 Mr. Lloyd James, P.E. Charles Gojer and Associates, Inc. 11615 Forest Central Drive, No. 204 Dallas, Texas 75243 Re: Sandy Lake Road, Project 91-838 (Coppeli City Limits to Carrollton City Limits) Harrington Bait Shop Access Dear Mr. James: I have reviewed the two drawings you submitted to show how access to the Harrington Bait Shop and the TU Electric service drive might be accommodated. The following comments regarding these drawings are provided. 1. Provide top of curb elevation for the beginning of concrete pavement in plato and profile. 2. Provide a B.M. on this plan sheet. 3. Provide permanent access easements for the access roads on both sides. 4. Provide 50 lineal feet of guard rail and approach terminal end at the end of the Retained earth wall. 5. Modify the inside radius on each access road as indicated. 6. The existing fence on the north side along the Carrollton - Farmers Branch I.S.D. property is a pipe rail fence not a hog wire fence. 7. Include a note to relocate the TU Electric gate with chain link fence as needed across the relocated access road. Suggested location is from corner post of new pipe fence and the existing chain link (about Station 68+86 to the corner of the concrete abutment slope protection.) 8. Suggest minor modification to buttons and stripping on the asphalt transition as indicated. 41 I Elm Street Dallas. Texas 75202 Mr. Lloyd Jmes, P.E. December 5, 1994 Page 2 9. The prot'fle shown for the Bait Shop Parking Lot (South ROW) does not agree with the elevations from the cross-~ sheet (sheet x-2). Please recheck this plotting. Also examine the poss~le pending problem in the parking !o~ at the east end. 10. Parkway slopes away from roadway is normally only permitted where drainage from parkway will drain into ditch at toe of slope or unto public property. No parkway or roadway drainage should discharge unto private property. , 11. Were any other parking layouts analyzed for the Bait Shop? With flume eliminated the R.E. wall could be the extension of the bridge parapet and two rows of 90° parking developed. (see sketch) Please review these commen~ carefully. Take the necessary corrections to these two sheets and resubmit them to me for presentation to the property owners served by throe relocated access drives, ff you have any questiom Please feel free to call or visit with me about my review. Please furnish a set of plan-view information to Mr. David Howard With the Sverdrup Corporation as soon as poss~ie.
