Water Pressure Injection Testing E Sampling
Proposed "Ct&me de la Ct&me"
Coppell, Texas
In accordance with your authorization, our firm performed a sampling and testing program for the
water pressure injection process at the location of tee above referenced project. The purpose of the
injection program was to reduce the moisture induced swell potential of the subgrade softs_
On May 5, 2005, upon completion of the 3r~ pass of thle water pressure injection process, a total of five
(5) soft test bonngs were drilled and sampled to a depth of 10 feet in the water injected area of the
proposed building pad. Att the borings were advanced continuously using a truck-mounted dri!,ling rig.
Undisturbed samples of the injected subgrade soils were obtained using a 3-inch diameter She~,by tube
sampl, er. Pocket Fenetrometer tests were performe~] at every one-foot interval to the injected depth
of 10 feet in all of the test borings drilled.
Att retrieved samples were placed in plastic bags, sealed, marked and transported to our Laboratory
where moisture content and Free Swell tests were performed. The Swell tests were performed on
selected samples ~.t overburden pressure plus the weight of one feet of select fill placed upon a
satisfactory injection program. The results of ali tests are presented in sequence on the attached
sheets.
Based on the results of the Swell tests and, in correlation with moisture content and pocket
penetrometer test results, the potential moisture ir~duced verticaI. movement complies with project
specifications as provided in the geotechnical report!prepared by "Geoscience Engineering Ii Testing,
Inc." dated June 22, 2004.

We recommend the building pad be sea[ed with se~.ect fiLL as soon as possib!.e to avoid moisture
evaporation from the modified subgrade.
