Dear City Manager:
Lone Star Gas Company owns and operates natural gas facilities located within
your area of jurisdiction. Federal and State regulations require that Lone Star
establish and maintain contact with appropriate public officials in order to minimize
hazards if an unforseen event occurs which involves Lone Star's facilities.
Lone Star considers an emergency as any occurrence involving any Lone Star
facility which presents an immediate hazard to people or property and includes, but is
not limited to, the following:
1. A pipeline rupture
2. A fire
3. An explosion
4. A major gas leak
5. Damage by outside forces to Lone Star property
If you become aware of an event that may involve or affect Lone Star's
facilities, please call the appropriate 24-hour emergency response telephone number
listed on the attached information.
In the event of an emergency, Lone Star will implement appropriate actions to
(1) protect the public, (2) protect public property, and (3) protect Company
facilities. Lone Star will work with your department to minimize injury and damage to
persons and property.
