LOW PRESSURE A/R rEST FOR GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER
Test Procedure:
Each section of sewer shall be tested between SUcessive manholes.
Air shall be introduced into the pipeline until 4.0 psi gauge pressure has been reached.
At ~nat time the flow of air shall be reduced and the internal air pressure shall be maintained
oe~een 3 5 and 4.5 psi gauge for at least two(2) minutes to allow the air temperature to come
to equilibrium with the temperature of the pipe wall~. Pressure in the pipe shall be constantly
monitored by a gauge and hose arrangement separate from the hose used to introduce air
the hne Pressure in the pipe shall not be allowed to exoeed 5 psi.
After the temperature has stabilized and no air leaks at the plugs have been found, the air pressure
shall be used 1o delermine the time lapse required for lhe air pressure to drop to 2.5 psi gauge.

time lapsed is less than that shown in the table, the contractor shall make corrections to
