GTE Underground & Aerial
Dear Mr. Shelby:
On January 22, 1998 Dallas County opened bids for construction of this Sandy Lake Road
project. You should know that we plan to begin construction of this project in April 1998.
Representatives of your firm previously indicated to me that the connections to the existing
underground GTE lines east of the river have been re-routed and abandoned. To date, the
removal of the existing underground cable and manholes has not been accomplished and you
have not yet provided Dallas County a schedule for removing your existing facilities.
Also, the aerial relocations by your company to the Bait Shop west of the river have not yet
been made and you have not yet provided Dallas County a schedule for relocating your aerial
lines.
The purpose of this letter is to request that your removals and relocations be completed
promptly. Due to the duration of time that Dallas County been corresponding with you, without
written reply, we are considering turning this over to the City/Cities granting your company's
franchise. By copy of this letter we are providing advance notice to the City/Cities. If you are
unable to identify your schedule in writing, to Dallas County within the next seven working
days, we will turn this matter over to the City/Cities.
