Re: Sandy Lake Road Project ST 93-01
Dear Mr. Saldana:
Thank you for the packet of information you provided the City on January 10, 1997 concerning
Sandy Lake Road. I concur with your proposal that there needs to be a meeting to discuss the
various aspects of the comments from Sverdrup concerning the City of Coppell's comments.
Twelve of the responses indicate that the work will be considered additional work. There needs
to be clarification of what the consultants role is in designing a workable set of plan., and how
the development during the course of that design affects their design. I fred it difficult to believe
that we should ignore development that is talcing place during the review of this project and
design the project in a vacuum. I also take exception to the comment from Shannon Hebb, with
Sverdrup, that new ideas and requirements have come from the City of Coppell. Most, if not
all, items discussed in our review of the plans are in conformance with meetings that have been
ongoing with the County for years. Our requirements for design have not changed through the
course of this process. We understand that some of the items requested such as pavers are a
responsibility of the City of Coppell. It has always been our understanding that those would be
included as part of the plans and the pricing would be provided to the City of Coppell as part
of our share of the cost. There are several other responses that I question from Sverdrup,
therefore, I strongly agree that we schedule a meeting to discuss this project before it proceeds
any further.
Please contact me at your convenience so a meeting can be scheduled. Thank you for your
attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
