AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPP?LL, TEXAS, AMENDING SEC. 8-3-1
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL -PROHIBITING PARKING
ON SPECIFIC STREETS WHEN SIGNS ARE ERECTED OR CURBS ARE pAINTED;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING
FOR A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($500.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CoPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. AMENDING SECTION 8-~--1 OF CITY CODE
See. 8-3-1 of Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell which
prohibits parking on certain streets within the City is hereby amended to read as follows:
"See. 8-3-1 NO PARKING ON SPECIFIC STRBETS
It shall be unlawful for any driver or owner of any vehicle or for the owner to
permit the driver of any vehicle to stop, stand, or park a vehicle, except when necessary
to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the law or the direction of
a police officer, traffic control officer or traffic control device, on the following public
streets within the corporate limits of the City of Coppell, when signs are erected or
curbs are painted giving notice thereof:

On the south side,

from point (nAn) being ?0 feet south of
the south curb line of the entrance into
Town Lake Apartment complex to a point
186 feet north of said point
SECTION 2. REPEALING CLAUSE
All parts of ordinances, inconsistent or in oonfliet with the provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any article, paragraph or subdivision, clause or provision of this ordinance
shall be adjudged invalid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity

of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof, other than the part so
decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. pi/MALTY CLAUSE
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a
penalty of fine not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each
offense, and each and every day such offense is continued shall constitute a new and
separate offense.
SECTION 5. EI~I~ECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the publication of
its caption, as the law in such cases provides.
