~e Carrollton City Council ~11 meet on Au~st 18, 1989, for
ratification of an ordinance approving t~ land fill e~ch is
located in Carrollton but has ~cass frs Co~all streets.
Mayor Gravely of ~rrollton hoe indicated that ha 411 remove
this item ira the consent agenda and alia Peroon~ prnannt to
speak.
Mayor Wolfe and Councilman Norton mot with FAA and D/IV
Airport officials recently and feel there have been some
~mprovsments in tho FAA'o position concerning aircraft leaving
D/F~ to the north and being required to fly further north
before making the right turn ovver Coppall. Another seating ia
scheduled for the following.week to discuss noise ebatemnt
and flights over Coppell.
The deadline for Board and Coumiasion applications ia Tuesday,
August 15. Mayor Wolfe encouraged all citizens intsraatad to
apply for an opening on one of the Boards and Commissions and
urged Council to contact any citizens vho ~Lght be interested
and request they apply by the August 15 de&dl~a. With
Council consensus a reception ia planned for Nonday, September
I1, 1989, for Council to meet applicants. Following the
reception an Executive Session would ha scheduled for Council
to discuss end receive input from the Clmirmu of tho various
Boards and Cosmiaslons. It wan the coueanana of the Council
to hold the reception and special Council meeting.
Mayor ~olfs requested a consensus of the Council ~hsther to
pursue a more indepth study of the Nnore and Bethel School
intersections. The information preaented from staff at the
previous Council moetin8 indicated that speeding is not
prevalent in Chis area and a four way stop sign is not
warranted. It was the consensus of the ~mncil to not couduct
a more ~ndepth study and the MJori[y Of the C~ncil vas nsc
in favor of installin8 stop signs at this point.
Council Commn requested infor~ation an to consideration hai~8
given to inatall a four-way stop al~n at Hoars end Parkway
Boulevard due to whac could be perceived os site 8nd distance
probles~. City Mansser Alan D. htliff stated that the C~t~y
should conduct a traffic study to determine if a stop s~n is
warranted prior to lantalling such si~uo. It m th
consensus of the Council for this at~dy to ~eke place end for

intersection to be used for 8 study, to be conducted t~ ·
