Alley/Easement Dedication
Per, I have reviewed the information you submitted regarding the
above referenced matter and discussed this with Chief Building
Official Dale Jackson. It appears that the alley was constructed
in accordance to flat work specifications not paving alley/street
specifications. Dale Jackson has informed me that the property
owner wishes to dedicate the maintenance to the City as well as the
property. Since this does not conform to alley specifications, we
have a dilemma to work through.
The City can accept the property as described in the documentation,
however don't you believe that the maintenance of substandard work
will become a problem with your division as well as the City?
Please contact Danny or Jean Chambers and advise that the City will
accept the alley dedication if either the portion of alley to be
dedicated meets the construction specifications of alley pavement
or the developer is willing to give a five year maintenance bond
of one hundred percent of the construction cost.
I understand there has been some confusion between your office and
the Building Inspections office. Please clarify and contact the
Chamber's office Monday, April 30, 1990.
Provide a status report May 2, 1990.
