SUBJECT: School Zone on Moore Road In accordance with your request to provide a study and make recommendations regarding the installation of school zone flashers at the Moore Road school site, the following sets forth our comments. The enclosed print of Moore Road plan sheets, from Raven Lane south to Shadowcrest Lane, along with the following written descriptions should provide you with the required information. (The numbers on the drawing correspond with the written descriptions.) 1. Install standard school zone 20MPH sign assembly with flasher assembly on the east side of Moore Road approximately 50' north of Shadowcrest. Sign facing south. Flasher composed of 12" yellow signals mounted on top of sign post. One signal facing north and one facing south. 2. Install 8" white painted stripe across Moore Road approximately 50' north of Shadowcrest. 3. Install sign reading "Stop for Emergency vehicles When Flashing" with flasher assembly on the east side of Moore Road approximately 50' north of Pheasant Lane. Both sign and flasher facing south. Flasher composed of one 12" red signal mounted on top of sign post. 4. Install standard school zone 20MPH sign assembly on the west side of Moore Road opposite Pheasant Lane. Sign facing east. 5. Install standard school zone 20MPH sign assembly on the west side of Moore Road north of the fire station drive opposite Quail Lane. Sign facing east. 6. Install dual sign assembly on the west side of Moore Road opposite the alley north of Quail Lane. Signs facing north. Dual signs made up of one standard school zone 20MPH sign assembly with flashers facing both north and south. School flashers composed of two 12" yellow signals mounted on top of 17103 Preston Road · Suite 100 · LB 118 · Dallas, Texas 75248 · Phone 214/248-4900 -2- sign post. One signal facing north and one facing south. Second sign reading "Stop for Emergency Vehicles When Flashing" with flasher assembly mounted on top of sign post. Flasher composed of one 12" red signal. Red flasher facing north. 7. Install 8" white painted stripe across Moore Road on the north side of the alley north of Quail Lane. 8. Fire station flashers shall be red in color and wired to an activating switch inside the fire station, switch to be thro%rn just prior to departure of emergency vehicles.
