ST8502-CS 870406MEMORANDUM April 6, 1987 TO: FROM: RE: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works Dana Kamp, Sign/Signalization Technician Bids on School Flashers for Moore Road Elementary School To Bidders: To furnish and install the following school flashers. Location~Moore Rd. Elementary, north & south. The specifications on the school flashers are as follows: - To furnish and Install two (2) school flasher assemblies, complete with signs - One (1 24" x 8" School sign for each flasher - One (1) 24" x 30" Speed Limit 20 for each flasher One (1) 24" x 10" School Time Plaque each flasher (7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.) for Ail faces of the signs shall be of 3m Engineer grade reflective type sheeting, mounted on .080 thickness aluminum sign blanks. The pole shall be round aluminum and 4" in diameter by 10 ft. in length, The thickness of the material should be about %". There shall be an aluminum breakaway base. It should be about 18" in height. The dual beacons shall have a 12" diameter yellow lense and mounted on top of the pole (One beacon pointed in each direction). Each school (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) flasher shall have: Eltec Type - Solid State Digital Clock, w/warranty Lightning Arrestor (Surrestor) 10 Amp In and Out Breaker Isolation Relay Solid State Dual Flasher On & Off Signal Switch (Toggle) (Continued) Everything shall be mounted on a removable back panel (aluminum) and easily accessable to all parts. The dimension of the controller box shall be 15" x 15" x 7" deep, if not larger. (aluminum) The flasher shall be installed on a concrete foundation with the size of 24" round or square and 3 ft. deep into the Ground. It shall have a Ground rod in the base also. There shall be a concrete embedded pull box with a metal lid for each flasher. All I~ver hook-ups to school flashers shall be under ground. No overhead wiring. Boring will be required to ~1o so. DK/sm
