Bicycle Lane
Dear Mr. Griffin:
This is in reference to my letter of July 26, 1994, which furnished you with the additional cost
information for adding bicycle lanes on both sides of Sandy Lake Road in Coppell. The
additional cost including design was $148,548.00.
My letter indicated that our consultants were on hold and we needed your response as to whether
or not we were to proceed to add bicycle lanes to the project or not.
On September 16, 1994, by telephone I suggested you might want to consider an alternate
section. Instead of adding an additional 3 feet on each side add only 1 foot. Instead of roadway
striped for a 12 foot and 15 foot lane it would be striped for an 11 foot an 14 foot lane. The
additional cost would probably be around $49,500.00.
A response from the City of Coppell regarding the addition of bicycle lanes on this project is
desperately needed inorder for us to continue with the design.
