Review Comments - Dallas County Construction~lans
Dallas County Project No. 91-830
for Sandy Lake Road
Public Works staff has reviewed the above referenced plans and have documented the
following comments.
Are irrigation plans to be included with this project? Sleeves for electrical and
irrigation lines need to be incorporated into this plan so that ultimate street
lighting, irrigation systems, and landscaping components can be placed with
minimal problems.
When are landscaping plans to be coordinated with this project? This, along
with a irrigation plan will help determine water meter sizes, locations, water
system needs, etc. A landscaping plan with irrigation plan is required by the
Streetscape Plan.
What type of material is to be placed within the medians? Top soil that is
conducive for turf growth and landscaping is needed. Construction debris of
any type should not be allowed in these areas.
Will the medians or right of way that is affected by this project be
hydromulched with bermuda grass? The contractor should be required to
establish a full stand of grass in order to have this project accepted.
At the MacArthur Boulevard intersection, the contractor needs to replace any
landscaping or irrigation system that is disturbed during the construction
process. Contact with the Parks and Recreation Division needs to take place as
this area is affected.
On sheet 2 of 11 of the paving plan and profile, there is a 16" and 24" water
line which exists north along MacArthur Boulevard that is not shown on the
construction plans. There is also a 36" water line which crosses Sandy Lake
Road at Kimball Court and runs eastward along the southern right of way of.
Sandy Lake Road.
On sheet 3 of 11 of the paving plan and profile, there is a 8" water line that
crosses Sandy Lake Road at Station + 75 449.82.
Verification of a 60" proposed water line that is indicated throughout the
construction plans.
Please note all additional comments regarding verification of water valves,
meters, etc. that are noted on construction plans.
Need to identify correct location and size of utilities throughout project.
Streetscape Plan identifies intersection at Sandy Lake and MacArthur to be full
brick paved.
