Re:
Sandy Lake Road 91-830
(MacArthur Boulevard to Coppell E. City Limit)
Right-of-way Alignment
Dear Mr. Griffin:
City of Coppell and County review comments on the Sandy Lake Road curb and right-of-way
alignment pl .ans were recently prePared and sent to the consultant with a copy to you.
This letter is to confirm the section which was requested by the City of Coppell' and which is
now being used by our consultant. That section is the inside four lanes rather than the outside
four lanes and consists of 2-24 ft roadways f/f of curbs separated by a 17 ft median f/f of curbs
with 22.5 ft parkways to face of curbs in a 110 ft right-of-way. If this is not the correct se6tion,
please advise as soon as possible.
With regard to my comment on the plans about the outside lane at the major intersections being
used for a right-turn lane, the County Often constructs the full six lanes at the major intersection
without additional City costs involvement. The fact that we'd designated the outside lane for
a right-turn will not place an additional cost burden on the City of Coppell except for funding
of shortfall and cost of the additional three feet required by your 36 ft roadway f/f versus our
33 ft road. Please, advise me as to whether or not we should include the construction of the
outside lanes at the major intersections for use as free right-turn lanes due to this added cost.
Sincerely,
B1 ~~essup; P.~E.
