Revised Curb and Right-of-Way Alignment Plans
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Accompanying this letter are two sets of revised curb and right-of-way alignment
:plans, along with the marked set of prints of the original curb and right-of-way
alignment for this project.
The curb and right-of-way alignment has been revised to reflect the City's
requested change to. build the inside four lanes rather than the outside four. The
revised alignm~t~ provides for a minimum centerline radius of 850 feet as
requested. !, ii~'
These alignment plans do not yet reflect the location of conduit for the future
irrigation or street lighting systems or the brick pavers which have been
requested. This type of information will be provided after we have an approved
alignment and begin work on the preliminary paving plans.
Please review these revised plans to determine whether or not this revised curb
and right-of-way alignment plans meets with the City's approval. If you plan to
hold a neighborhood meeting or public hearing, please let me know as to whether
or not you would like me to attend. We would appreciate your returning these
plans with your commits and/or approval by October 25, 1993.
Sincerely,
/

Dear Bud,
The City of Carrollton has expr_~___~ed a desire to include bike paths as part cd the Sandy Lake Road
expansion project west of Old Denton Road. While the inclusion o~ bike paths is still desirable, funding is
not available at this time from the City ol Carrollton to acquire add~ right-of-way and provide concrete
pavement for bicycle trafrm. Ther~ore, due to funding limitations, the City cannot commit to supplemental
funding for accommodating bicycle traffic at this time.
The City o~ Carroilton will make an eff(xt to investigate future funding sources. It is, therefore,
recommended that Dallas County prepare an alternate construclk)n bid specif'~at ion for a design that would
ac(x)mmodate future bicycle traffic at the Elm Fork Trinity River bridge and the IH-35E overpass. This
would allow Dallas County and the affected cities to assess the cost of future acoommodatbns at two
important links to a regional bike path system.
Sincerely,
I! ·
