Mr. Don Davis on behalf of his client, Prentiss Properties, is requesting that the sidewalk
be eliminated in front of above reference site, and instead the owner's desire is to provide
landscaping and landscaping berme along Airline Drive.
Attached please find a copy of our respond letter to Mr. Davis, dated 3/9/90, regarding
this request, along with other related plans and documents. Mr. Davis has received this
letter, but he would like to continue with this variance request on behalf of his client.

RE: Park West Commerce Center Plat and Site 1 Construction
Dear Don:
As we discussed today, I am in receipt of your request for a
sidewalk waiver for Airline Drive on behalf of your client,
please note that Section VIII A on Page 44 of Appendix A of the
Subdivision Ordinance requires ("shall") sidewalks, therefore a
waiver would require the action of the City Council. The City
Engineer only has the latitude to vary alignments in certain cases.
Therefore, the next available City Council Meeting is March 27,
1990. In order to get on that agenda through this office, we must
have your application reviewed and a recommendation prepared on or
before Wednesday, March 14, 1990.
Coincidently today we also received a letter from T. H. Pritchett,
your client's Landscape Architecture, requesting a selection of a
couple of sidewalk design options for Belt Line Road by the City
of Coppell staff. We will accommodate by making comments etc, but
it is the applicant who must make that decision and then either
have it approved by the City of Coppell and/or get a variance if
necessary.
While we will work with however your project divides up the work
and requests, may I suggest that the City Council decision would
be facilitated by having the Landscape Architect review the entire
development and I would suggest also that he include the entire
southwesterly/westerly portion of the City of Coppell in his
consideration, presentation and recon~endation, so that no loose
ends nor isolated spots develop that have sidewalks, but are not
connected to the rest of the City of Coppell.
These are only suggestions on the part of staff having observed the
comprehensiveness of data and information required on the part of
the City Council in making 'their policy decisions.
