Ratliff, City Manager L/Steve Goram, Director of Public Works SANDYINT TO: FROM: SUBJECT: DATE: Alan D. Ratliff, City Manager Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E., City Engineer~ 1991 Dallas County Bond Program February 17, 1992 PUBL!C _?ORKS On February 4, 1992 Steve Goram and myself met with representatives from Dallas County concerning the bond program approved by the voters on November 5, 1991. The major emphasis of our ~eeting with the county was to discuss the construction of Sandy Lake Road from MacArthur into 1-35. This construction involves the cities of Coppell, Dallas, and Carrollton. Construction of this road is scheduled at some time in the next sixteen to eighteen months. Prior to that time, the City of Coppell will need to execute an interlocal agreement with Dallas County. Because the interlocal agreement has been revised from the one used for Belt Line Road in 1985, it is currently being routed through the City Attorney's office for review. Once the project has been designed, but prior to construction, the City may also need to execute a supplemental funding agreement with Dallas County to cover any items on the plans that are not typically funded under this bond program. I have spoken with Mr. Bill Dryden, a project engineer with Dallas County Department of Public Works, concerning the interlocal agreements. Mr. Dryden verified that the project could be designed prior to execution of the interlocal agreements. However, construction could not commence until the interlocal agreement has been approved. I anticipate that this item will be placed on either the March 10th or March 24th City Council agenda depending on the date of the City Attorney's review. ~.'~teve Goram, Director of Public Works 1991MEM
