Phase II and III Riverchase Drive- Water
Leak
Dear Mr. Torgerson:
Per a conversation with you this morning, I had informed
you that the City had discovered a water leak in the above
referenced area.
The project known as Riverchase Drive Phase II and III was
never completed, therfore, the City has never accepted the
utilities in that portion of Riverchase Drive. However,
the line had passed all required test and has been connected
to the City of Coppell's Water System for the last 14 months.
When the leak was discovered (November 20), the water line
was shut down west of the Riverchase Golf Course Clubhouse
and on the east side of Sandy Lake Road (See Attachment) in
order to isolate the leak until it could be repaired.
If this water line is shut down any longer than 90 days,
I would have to disconnect it from the system due to the
water in the main becoming stagnate. Once I have disconnected
the line, it would have to be disinfected and restested prior
to reconnection to our system.
I would prefer not to disconnect this line due to the fact
that it serves as a loop feed through Riverchase to allow
water to continuously flow from Sandy Lake to MacArthur,
leaving fresh potable water in the water lines at all times.
If possible, please have this leak repaired to prevent the
City form having to take steps to abandon this line.
