Thank you for sending me a copy of your letter to Janet Vick
dated April 12, 1988. I just learned recently that Mike
Garrett of Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. was
also involved in the installation of the oversized waterline
in MacArthur. Please feel free to follow up and discuss
Mike's involvement with him. His office phone number is
739-4741.
Mike informed me that Steve Goram told him on September 16,
1985, that he would accept "RCCP" pipe for the 24" waterline
instead of "D.I." only if we would give a truck with welder
equipment to the City of Coppell and pay the salaries of the
City personnel as they were being trained on repairs to RCCP
pipe. As a result, we complied with Steve Goram's directive
to use ductile iron pipe. Enclosed please find a copy of
the diary notes of Mike Garrett that he prepared at the time
of his conversation with Steve Goram in 1985. I hope this
will be helpful to you and bring to a conclusion your
investigation so that we might receive the requested
reimbursement. Thank you.
