Dear Ms. Vick:
This letter is to document our telephone conversation on April 6, 1988,
at approximately 3:10 p.m.. It is my understanding that, during the
period in question, you were employed as an Engineer for Nathan Maier
Construction.
I asked you if you recalled who had informed you of the substitution of
the Ductile Iron Pipe for the Cement Steel Cylinder Pipe. You responded
by saying that, to your recollection, the information came from Gabe
Favre from Wayne Ginn's office. I then asked you if there was written
documentation regarding this decision. You replied that any
documentation would have been placed on mark-up plans. The mark-up
plans would then be returned to the City. During the conversation you
also stated that Mr. Goram did not inform you of a substitution. I then
asked if you had any field notes pertaining to this subject. You
answered by stating that all of your notes are in storage, but, you will
review them, even though you do not believe they will reveal anything.
If you feel that there are any discrepancies between our telephone
conversation and the above documentation, please notify me at your
earliest convenience.
