I~ r~ your su~ittal on Fe~uary 7, 1990, regarding the displac~ent
of the 30" R~eneath the alley paving on Bethel School Road, Shadow Ridge
Estates. The laboratory report indicates a density was taken over the sanitary
sewer main backfill in the general area of the installation of the 30" RCP.
However, the poss~ili~ of a backfill void may exist between the alley paving
section ~d the top of the 30" RCP due to displacement.
At this the, there is no visual indication of a void other than the flow line
displacement of the 30" RCP.
My recommendation for resolution to the displacement would be to remove the
concrete paving section and adjust the RCP to proper flow line grade and
recompact the backfill or allow for several wet/dry weather cycles and extend
the maintenance bond (possibly to 24-36 months).
