A requisition has been submitted for the replacement of a
ballast and the light sensor for the lights. I have a suggestion
to reduce the funds needed for maintenance of these troublesome
decorative bridge lights. I suggest to light the entire street at
no installation cost (this will need to be done at some time
anyway) and replace the HPS lights with incandescent lights which
will eliminate the ballasts.
This will eliminate the costly, seemingly regular replacement
of the ballasts and the costly replacement of HPS bulbs. The light
should provide the
output of incandescent bulbs will be less but
decorative look desired. Please advise.
