MINUTES OF THE DIRECTOR'S FEBRUARY 3, 1993 STAFF MEETING
There was a question asked concerning the proper way to fill out timesheets for exempt
employees. We were instructed that an exempt employee should put 8 hours on each day
of the week unless some type of leave time had been used and that there would also be
a SOP coming out for the proper way to fill out timesheets.
The proposed smoking policy was discussed. It was also noted that quite possibly
departments could establish their own smoking policy.
I should bring back an escrow agreement for the Eaglepoint Riverchase subdivision at
the February 23, 1993 Council meeting.
I should start the preliminary work on putting together a traffic impact fee ordinance.
Our attorney stated that the cities of DeSoto, Arlington, and Garland had those traffic
impact fees in place. He recommended I contact Pat Mitchell at DeSoto, phone number
230-9600, to start the process.
Our follow-up meeting with PDI will be February 20, all day long.
Alan has reinstated the computer committee of Frank, Neil, and myself. We should get
with Bob about computer programs for tracking projects and report back by March 3,
1993.
I should bring back my computer software equipment request at the February 10, 1993
Director's staff meeting. As a side note, I should get with Shohre on why she
recommended the "WHICH~ program over the ~PC WARRANTS' program.
Each department should start looking at SOP's for the department to cover our day to
day operations, particularly clerical type issues. These SOP's should address how we
handle various items that come through the department. Some things would be plan
routing, the review process, how to answer the phone, how to handle the mail, how to
process information from Alan, etc.
We should reevaluate the people we are sending to the computer classes. It was
recommended that every employee of the City should attend the Introduction to
Computers class.
