Postal Facility - Denton Tap Road Construction Damages

Since the date of my last memorandum, staff has sent correspondence
to Mr. Gabe Favre relating to the completion of work along Denton
Tap Road This also includes those items to be addressed at the
Postal Facility on Denton Tap Road at Bethel School Road. A copy
of my correspondence was also sent to Mr. John Karlsruher, of Ginn,
Inc., and Ms. Linda Smith, of Natural Design Concepts. You will
additionally find attached to this memorandum a copy of the
transmittal letter sent to Mr. Clyde St. John, of Landscape Design
and Construction.
Staff has continued to see what, if any progress has been made
since the date of my last correspondence to Mr. Favre. Very little
visible progress has been made during the last several weeks and
I would doubt that the work documented to be done can be completed
by December 27, 1990. Should this work not be finished in time for
the January 8, 1991 Council meeting, I will again send
correspondence to Mr. Favre to see what measures need to be taken
to get this project completed. Among the items I would like Ginn,
Inc., to examine would be the use of liquidated damages for this
project. I find it unacceptable that no work has been conducted
on this project during the last several weeks especially when more
than acceptable weather has been at hand.
Staff will continue to monitor this situation and update you on
this matter by January 11, 1991.
