St Ann Catholic-CS 930719July 19, 1993 J{JJ. Z 3, The Honorable Tom Morton, Mayor City of Coppell P.O. Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mr. Morton: As a Coppell homeowner and member of St Ann's Catholic Parish, ~ attempt to have it~ land replatted I know that Father Broderick and the others working with him on this issue are eminently reasonable. However, I feel that the City has not treated them or the church's request fairly. I am sure you can understand that people like myself, who are usually too busy to become involved in City politics, are keenly interested in anything that affects their church. Thus, I will be closely watching the outcome of this issue and your approach to it. Sincerely, Maria Jl Liy-Auyon 231 Delta Court Coppell, TX 75019 MAYC~t ?~',i'D COUNCIL DATE: q- & k -q ] Jul~ 15, 1993 Dear Mayor ]~ortoII As a member of Saint Ann's Church I was disappointed at the action taken by the Coppell Council regarding the platting of our land. I feel that the council should demand more from the city staff to settle all disputes before they come before the open hearing. It is your job to make sure the staff does their job. I trust after you have given this situation thought, you will not ca*~se the church to go through extra work due to the city staff not doing their Job. Approve the replattlng before you embarrass the city further. Diane Courtney JUL 2 i: . July 21, 1993 Kenneth Backus 402 Rolling Hills Circle Coppell, TX 75019 Mayor-TomMorton Town Center Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mayor Morton: I being a resident of Coppell and amender of St Ann Catholic Church am writing you in regards to the current issue of replatting the church property. We are not be~ng treated fairly. This makes me wonder what kind of counsel is running If an organization the size of our church is being treated like this, I am reall¥ concerned how smaller groups and individuals are being treated. A Concerned Citizen, Kenneth Backus July 20, 1993 The Honorable Mayor Tom Morten Coppell Town Center Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mayor Morten: As a registered, voting citizen of Coppell, I would like to voice my objection to the slipshod manner in which the replatting request by St. Ann's Catholic Church was handled by City Council and its staff. I anticipate that you will use your influence to ensure that their request will be handled fairly. I support the replatting request. I anticipate that St. Ann's will be notified to any exceptions and/or objections prior to the final City Council meeting, and that the Church's representatives will have the opportunity to address those concerns before a final decision is rendered. Testa 129 South MacArthur Boulevard Coppell, Texas, 75019-3602 20 duly 1993 Mayor Tom Morton City Centre Coppell, Texas 75019 Dear Mr. Mayor, As a voting citizen of Coppell, I wish to register my disapproval of the handling of the St. Ann Catholic Parish request for a zoning change. According to the newspaper and eyewitness reports, the normal and regular procedure for such requests were not followed. I think you have some explaining to do to the electorate. Since the local newspapers claim that the "usual procedures" of the zoning commission and, later on, the city councd were not followed, I, as a voting caizen wouM like an explanation from you of just what happened. If there was a deviation from "normal"procedure, I believe you owe it to the St. Anne community to explain why there was a deviation. I sincerely hope this is not an example of the way you mtn this city. I await your response. Yours tt2dy,
