Dear Mr. Crriffm:
We have checked the bids received on Tuesday, February 23, 1999 for the construction of the State Highway
121 Water Line project (Project Number WA-98-01, Bid Number Q1099-02). We are enclosing both a
summary of the bids received along with an itemized bid tabulation.
H & W Utility Contractors of Lake Dallas, Texas submitted the low bid in the amount of $180,217.54. We
have reviewed their experience record, equipment list and financial standing. They have successfully
completed similar projects for the Cities of Ft. Worth, Highland Village, Lake Dallas and Flower Mound. Our
review included checking on a random sampling of the references provided. We are enclosing copies of the
data submitted to our office by the contractor for our review. Based on the data presented by the contractor, it
is our opinion H & W Contractors, has the equipment, experience and financial capability to properly pursue a
project of this type.
Accordingly, we recommend that the City of Coppell accept the bid of H & W Contractors, of Lake Dallas,
Texas, in the amount of $180,217.54 and award a contract in that amount for the construction of the State
Highway 121 Water Line project.
We are available to discuss this project and our recommendation further at your convenience.
