Dear Ms. Daneshmand:
As requested, we have reviewed the subject bid proposals that were submitted on March 26,
1991 for traffic signal installation at the intersection of Denton Tap Road and Bethel Road
in Coppell, Texas. Bid proposals were received by the following contractors:

Each submitted bid appears to be in order and Table A presents a summary of the unit
prices and the total bids. Based on the unit prices, the total bid by Durable Specialties, Inc.
adds up to $50,680.00 as opposed to $53,680.00, which is shown in the Proposal and Bid
Form. As indicated by the Bid Evaluation Summary, the low bid of $49,531.50 was
submitted by Sig-Op Systems, Inc.

Since the Proposal and Bid Form submitted by Sig-Op Systems, Inc. appears to be complete
and in order, it is our recommendation that the bid be accepted for contract negotiation.

Project Status Report
Signal Design - Denton Tap Road/Bethel Road
Barton-Ascbman completed the final Plans and Specifications for the above referenced
project on March 14, 1991 as per the City's final review comments dated March 13, 1991.
The project is currently being advertised for bids with a bid opening date set for March 26,
1991 at 10:00 a.m. Unless the successful Bidder experiences delays in negotiating a contract
with the City or in getting equipment (traffic signal poles, signal heads, etc.), we estimate
that the signal installation will be completed by mid-June 1991.
During tile design phase of this project, slight delays were encountered due to the
uncertainty of the existing and/or proposed right-of-way for the west side of the intersection.
The objec~tive of the Cib.'s engineering staff and Barton-Aschman was to obtain as much
information as possible so that the location of the traffic signal poles would be designed as
to negate or minimize relocation due to the future widening of Bethel Road to the west.
