Dear Mr. Mirtaheri:
This letter is in reference to the traffic signal installation at Parkway and MacArthur Blvd.
The contract time on the project stated 120 calendar days. The notice to proceed was
issued on December 30, 1996. The completion date would have been April 28, 1997.
However, at the request of the contractor, the project was extended another nine days to
May 9, 1997.
The traffic signal was turned on May 20, 1997. The contract stated provisions for
liquidated damages at two hundred and forty dollars ($240.00) per day. The number of
days over the contract extension of May 9, 1997 was 11 days. Therefore, liquidated
damages will be $2,640.00. This amount will be deducted from the retainage prior to the
City remitting final payment to Integrated Roadway Services, Inc.
